Feeling Okay Not Fitting In
I recently posted an Instagram poll about a topic you can probably relate to (you are reading this blog, after all).
"Have you ever felt like you don't quite fit in?"
Everyone who answered said yes.
While I'm all about not fitting in, at the end of the day, it's not about being different (we all are) but how that makes you feel.
The fear of not fitting in can make you start hiding who you are.
I know it can sound very dramatic (I do love drama), but hiding can manifest in various ways. It can be not voicing your opinion to avoid being disliked, dressing in neutral clothes to go unnoticed, or pursuing a career or life path you have no interest in to follow your family's footsteps or meet their expectations.
Or you could be comfortable not fitting in, feeling that you are perfectly valid and that your tribe accepts you that way, developing a personal style that represents who you are with pride and taking control of your life to ensure you are being true to yourself.
How do you feel about not blending in, and what would you like to do about it?
